LIVE TWIN FOR DISASTER RESPONSE

LIVE TWIN FOR DISASTER RESPONSE: 12th August

Space@Oxford Partner

We would like to invite you to join the FDL Europe LIVE Showcase on Friday 12 August 2022 at 11:00 - 12:30 BST/ 12:00 - 13:30 CEST.

During this live event, FDL researchers will showcase advanced machine learning technology for near-real-time twinning of Earth Systems, with a specific emphasis on disaster response and prevention.

  1. Aerosols and Wildfires: Can we use ML techniques to predict which fires will generate extreme ‘PyroCB’ events and understand the mechanisms behind them?

  2. Hydrological Twin for flooding: Can we combine physical knowledge and data-driven ML models, informed by real- time satellite data, to build an end to end flood prediction system?

The Frontier Development Lab, Europe (FDL Europe) is a partnership between The European Space Agency (ESA), Oxford University, (Space@Oxford) Trillium Technologies and leaders in commercial AI, space exploration and Earth Science, such as Google Cloud, NVIDIA / SCAN AI, D-Orbit, Airbus, SENSE, the Satellite Applications Catapult and Planet.

Please register to ensure you don't miss the final showcase on this link of the application of cutting-edge AI to some of the biggest challenges of our time

FDL Europe is once again pushing the boundaries of applied AI in ways that offer a tantalising vision of what’s on the horizon and our two challenge teams from FDL Europe are excited to showcase and share their research.
